～2020夏の「学び」を考える　～スイッチをONにする７つの魔法の言葉～

では学校やご家庭で子どものやる気のスイッチをONにする言葉はないのでしょうか？そこで子どものやる気を生み出す7つの魔法の言葉をご紹介します。

『どうしたの？』→ 寄り添う言葉

『なぜ？』→ 心を解放する言葉

『どうする？』→ 選択させる言葉

『わかるよ』→ 共感する言葉

『そうなんだ！』→ 肯定する言葉

『すごいね！』→ 褒める言葉

『ありがとう,ごめんなさい』→ 人間関係をスムーズにする言葉

 

特に小学校中学年（３年生）以上の子どもには『どうする？』で、自分のことは自分で決める習慣を身につけさせるためにも特に大切だと思います。

しかし、それと合わせて、選択した答えについて『そうなんだ！』と大人はなかなか言えないんです。

子どもは大人の想像の外側の答えを出してきたりすると、つい、否定的になったりすることが多いんです（特に学校で多く見られます）。

大人は会話に付き合う余裕が大事です。

逆を言えば、余裕がないとついつい否定的になってしまうので気をつけたいと思います。新型コロナの影響で、教員にも余裕がなくなってきている現状からみて想像に難くありません。

新型コロナ感染症が収まらない中での学校や家庭で　大人はこれら「魔法の言葉」を使う余裕を持ちたいものです。

Then, isn’t there a word to turn on the motivation of children at school or at home? Here are seven magical words that motivate children.

“What’s wrong? → Words to snuggle up to

“Why?  → Words that release the heart

“What should I do?   → Words to select

“I understand you.” → Words that resonate

“Is that so! → Words to affirm

“Amazing!  → Complimentary words

“Thank you. & Sorry.” → Words that facilitate human relationships

I think that “What should I do?” is especially important for children in the 3rd graders and above of the primary school to develop the habit of making their own decisions.

But, along with that, about the answer you chose, “Is that so (Yes!)  It’s difficult for adults to say.

When a child gives an answer outside the imagination of an adult, he or she often becomes negative (mostly at school).

It is important for adults to have time to talk.

To put it the other way around, if you can’t afford it, you’ll end up being negative, so I’ll be careful. It is not difficult to imagine from the current situation that teachers are no longer able to afford due to the influence of the new Coronavirus.

Adults want to have room to use these “magic words” at school and at home while new coronavirus infections do not subside.
