OECD、学習到達度調査「PISA」1年延期…コロナ影響

OECD生徒の学習到達度調査「PISA」について、OECD（経済協力開発機構）は、新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響により、2021年に実施予定のPISA2021を2022年に、2024年実施予定のPISA2024を2025年に延期することを決定しました。。

PISA（Programme for International Student Assessment）は、OECDが進めている国際的な学習到達度に関する調査。15歳生（日本では高校1年生）を対象に読解力、数学的リテラシー、科学的リテラシーの3分野について、2000年から3年ごとに調査を実施しています。

さて、その2022年に実施されるPISAの数学に関するテストでは、論理的な考え方や問題解決能力を重視する’Computational Thinking’に関する問題が追加される予定です。

メディアの中には、「コンピュータサイエンス分野に関する学力が重視される国際的な調査はPISAが初になるとも見込まれている」という記載もありますが、このブログの読者は、すでに’Bebras Challenge’が10年以上前から実施していることはご存知のことだと思います。

PISAは、データサイエンス、サイバーセキュリティ、ネットワーク、機械学習、ロボット工学など、幅広い側面を持つコンピュータサイエンスの基礎となるのが「コンピューテーショナル・シンキング」であることを、その理由として挙げています。

そのほか、2021年のPISAテストでは、より広範なコンピュータサイエンスに関する知識や能力を調べるテストや、実施が必須ではないオプション調査として、学生に対してはプログラムの作成能力、プログラムの問題点を特定する能力、問題を分割する能力などアルゴリズムに関する問題、学校に対してはコンピュータサイエンスがカリキュラムにおいて優先事項であるかどうか、コンピュータサイエンスに関するカリキュラムへの学生の参加や需要がどう変化したかを尋ねる質問も用意するそうです。

OECDでは、2021年のPISAテストが、国家が教育プログラムにコンピュータサイエンスを取り入れる方法を明示的に調査した、最初の研究になると見込んでいます。このような動きにより、プログラミングを含むコンピュータサイエンス分野の学力が、今後、国際的にもさらに重視されていく可能性があります。

OECD postpones learning achievement survey “PISA” for one year … COVID-19 Impact

PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) is a survey on international student assessment conducted by the OECD. We have been conducting surveys every three years since 2000 on the three fields of reading comprehension, mathematical literacy, and scientific literacy for 15-year-old children (first-year high school students in Japan).

Now, in 2022, PISA’s math test will add questions about’Computational Thinking’, which emphasizes logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

There is a statement in the media that “PISA is expected to be the first international survey that emphasizes academic ability in the field of computer science,” but readers of this blog have already read the’Bebras Challenge’. You know that we have been doing this for over 10 years.

PISA cites “computational thinking” as the basis of computer science, which has a wide range of aspects such as data science, cyber security, networks, machine learning, and robotics.

In addition, the 2021 PISA test will be a test to examine a wider range of computer science knowledge and abilities, and an optional survey that is not mandatory for students to create programs and identify problems with programs. Also prepare questions about algorithms, such as the ability to divide problems, whether computer science is a priority in the curriculum for schools, and how student participation and demand in the computer science curriculum has changed. That’s right.

The OECD expects the 2021 PISA test to be the first study to explicitly investigate how the state incorporates computer science into its educational programs. Due to these movements, academic ability in the field of computer science, including programming, may become even more important internationally in the future.

Therefore, we are currently recruiting participants for the English version of the Bebras Challenge ’(sponsored by the American Committee).
