バルト三国の一つリトアニアのVilnius大学の先生を中心にちょうど20年前に始まった、コンピュータ的思考力を診断し、鍛えるための国際規模のコンテストが今年も世界各国で行われます。ただ問題は言語ですね。日本では日本語で実施されます。当センターでは日本人にも英語で受検することを勧めています。そうすることで、1つの問題を国を超えて議論できます。今年の受検日は11月6日～19日です。ＰＣとインターネット環境さえあれば、この期間のいつでもご自宅で受験可能です。小学校5,6年（ベンジャミン級）、中1,2年（カデット級）、中3,高1年（ジュニア級）, 高2,3年（シニア級）を対象としています。

The international-scale contest to diagnose and train computational thinking skills, which started exactly 20 years ago with a professional from Vilnius University in Lithuania, one of the Baltic States, will take place again this year in countries around the world. The only problem is the language. In Japan, the contest will be held in Japanese. The Centre (‘Sapphire’) encourages Japanese people to take the test in English. This way, one issue can be discussed across countries. This year’s test dates are 6-19 November; you can take the test at home at any time during this period as long as you have a PC and an internet connection. The test is open to primary school students in Yr 5,6 (Benjamin level), junior and senior high school students in Yr7,8 (Cadet level), junior high school students in Yr9,10 (Junior level), senior high school students in Yr 11,12 (Senior level).
Those wishing to take the ‘Bebras Challenge’, an international information science competition for primary, secondary school students, need to register.
