サファイアの海外研修プログラムは、訪問校を確定させて皆さまにご提案する点で、一般の中学校・高等学校で行われている語学研修や「交換留学」と同じだとお考え下さい。5回目の今年は西オーストラリア州政府の後援をいただきまして、州都パースで開催いたします。
訪問校はAグループ：Aranmore Catholic College (以降ACC)は私立共学中高一貫校 (https://www.aranmore.wa.edu.au/)。パース市内の静かな住宅地に位置しています。キャンパスに足を踏み入れるとすぐに3つの特長が分かります。まず遺産登録されている開校当時の貴重な建物と、近代的な最先端の施設とがみごとに融合しているということ。創立は120年前に遡ります。また生徒数に対する教員の比率が高く、パースでも面倒見のいい学校として知られています。そして、創立以来、常にオーストラリアへの新しい移住者を歓迎してきました。現在では60カ国以上の国籍の生徒が在籍しています。これはWA州の人口の多様性を反映しているだけでなく、生徒がグローバルな視点から問題を見ることを奨励しています。生徒数がわずか700名であることを考えると、その多様性はさらに注目に値します。ここは、スポーツ（特にラグビー）や音楽などの芸術において、その才能を伸ばす特別なカリキュラムを持っていることも特筆すべき点です。Bグループ：Alkimos College（以降ALC）は州立共学中高一貫校 (Alkimos College | ASPIRE | ACT | ACHIEVE - High School)は、2020年にYear 7の生徒を対象に開校し、2025年に6学年がそろう予定の新しい学校です。パース市中心地から車で北西に40分ほどの沿岸郊外に位置していて、州政府が将来の中心市街地と都市地域として検討している地域に新設されました。それだけに世界トップクラスの学校施設において、生徒たちに卓越した中等教育を提供することを誇りとしています。ここには教育省公認の専門プログラムがあります。一つのことに秀でた才能を持つ生徒のための専門学習プログラム、そして2022年からは学業選抜入学英才プログラムが始まりました。第二外国語は日本語です。対照的な二校ですが、両校ともサファイアの参加者を学校全体で受け入れていただく内容になっています。
このプログラムでは、きめ細かな安心安全対策として、現地では2名体制で引率いたします。また、学校内では、参加者お一人おひとりに、'buddy′(バディ)という同学年の現地生徒がいて、基本的に彼らと一緒に授業を受けたり、学校生活を送ります。

Sapphire's Study Tour to Australia programme is similar to the language training and exchange programmes offered by most secondary schools in that the schools visited are confirmed and suggested to you.
The school visited by Group A: Aranmore Catholic College (ACC), a private co-educational secondary school (https://www.aranmore.wa.edu.au/). It is located in a quiet residential area of Perth. As soon as you enter the campus, three things are immediately apparent. Firstly, it is a perfect blend of heritage buildings from the school's early days and modern, state-of-the-art facilities. The school was founded 120 years ago. It has a high teacher to student ratio and is known as one of the most caring schools in Perth. It has always welcomed new migrants to Australia. Today, the school has students from more than 60 different nationalities. This not only reflects the diversity of WA's population, but also encourages students to see issues from a global perspective. The diversity is even more remarkable when you consider that there are only 700 students. It is also worth noting that the school has a special curriculum to develop their talents in sports (especially rugby) and the arts, such as music. Group B: Alkimos College (henceforth ALC) is a co-educational state secondary school(Alkimos College | ASPIRE | ACT | ACHIEVE - High School), a new school that will open for Year 7 students in 2020 and have six year groups by 2025. It is located in the coastal suburbs, a 40-minute drive north-west of Perth city centre, in an area identified by the State Government as a future city centre and metropolitan area. As such, it prides itself on providing students with an excellent secondary education in world-class facilities. It has a specialist programme accredited by the Department of Education. There are specialist study programmes for students who excel in one area and, from 2022, an academically selective entry programme for the gifted. Japanese is the second foreign language. Although they are two contrasting schools, both programmes are designed to accommodate 'Sapphire' participants throughout the school.
As a meticulous safety measure, the programme will be led by two teachers on site. In addition, each participant will have a 'buddy', a local student of the same Year, with whom they will essentially attend classes and spend their school day.
