【主なプログラム内容】
1⃣Griffith English Language Institute（以降GELI)／グリフィス大学付属語学学校で実質10日間（20時間／週）、英語能力試験（TOEIC, IELTSなど）の概要を提供します。また、下記の4技能を含む練習を導入しています。
当プログラムでは、主な英語能力試験の概要を提供し、役立つ受験テクニックを紹介します。また、下記の4技能を含む練習を導入しています。
➀リーディング：学術および一般の文章からの情報を理解する
②ライティング：試験中にリサーチしエッセイを書く
➂リスニング：学術および一般の状況の中で提示された情報を聞いて理解する
④スピーキング：学術的および一般の議論に参加し、情報を提示する

 



2⃣中高校時代でのホームステイは、大学生になってからのホームステイと大きく異なります。その最後のチャンスが今です。
中高時代のホームステイは、ホストファミリーが自分の子どもとして受け入れるのが大きな特徴です。

3⃣日帰りバスツアーを予定しています。

Main Program Content
1⃣ Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) / This is a 10-day (20 hours/week) program at the language school attached to Griffith University, which provides an overview of English proficiency tests (TOEIC, IELTS, etc.). It also introduces practice in the following four skills.

2⃣Homestays during junior high and high school are very different from those you do as a university student. Now is your last chance to experience one.
The main feature of homestays during junior high and high school is that the host family accepts you as their own child.

3. Independent Learning Centre (ILC)

Q１:グリフィス大学ってどんなところ？
A:グリフィス大学は1971年に創立され、クイーンズランド州のブリスベンとゴールドコーストに5つのキャンパスを置く公立大学です。また、約50年間で様々な研究分野を展開し、多くの卒業生を輩出しています。グリフィス大学はビジネス、法、文学、教育、工学、建築などの学部に加え、医療、航空学、デザイン、芸術など数多くの学部学科が存在します。グリフィス大学は「世界大学上位２%にランクイン」する実績を持ち、５万人を超える学生数が在籍しているなど、海外からも高く評価されています。
知名度も高いことから、50カ国以上の国から沢山の留学生が集まっており、これはグリフィス大学の全学生の10%に当たります。

Q２:GELIについて教えてください。
A:留学をするにあたって語学学校を決めるのはとても重要ですよね。オーストラリアでも今年の夏のプログラム先パースをはじめシドニー、メルボルンなど様々な留学地域がありますが、今回はグリフィス大学に付属している語学学校（GELI）は、ブリスベンに位置するネイサンキャンパス、マウントグラヴァットキャンパスと、ゴールドコーストに位置するゴードコーストキャンパスの3箇所で開講されています。
ブリスベンにあるそれぞれのキャンパスの魅力を説明します。今回のプログラムでどちらのキャンパスを使用するかは1月になって決まります。

ネイサンキャンパス

ブリスベンの中心部から車で15分ほどのところに位置し、自然に囲まれながら、コアラなどの様々な動物に出会うことができます。

マウントグラヴァットキャンパス

ブリスベン市内を一望できるパノラマビューを兼ね揃えています。メインキャンパスからは車やシャトルバスで5分ほどの距離に位置しています。

Q３:どんな授業が行われていますか？
A:授業は月曜日から金曜日まで朝8時15分から10時15分の2時間、そして30分の休憩を挟んで、10時45分から12時45分までの2時間になります。
基本的に月曜、水曜、金曜が同じ先生で、火曜日、木曜日で別の先生が担当することが考えられます。授業では、リーディング、ライティング、リスニング、スピーキングの４技能を２週間通して様々なトピックで学びます。

そして、授業内容はレベルによって違います。上記でも述べた通り、入学前のテストでレベルが決まります。レベルは１から６まであるのですが、今回の参加者には主にレベル３か４のクラスから始める予定ですが、レベル５のクラスになると、文法の学習は基本しません。文法、単語はある程度のレベルまでしっかり理解できている前提でスタートします。通常5週間のところを2週間10日間なので、特別プログラムと言うことになります。詳細は参加者の状況を見て年内に発表いたします。

Q1: What kind of place is Griffith University?
A: Griffith University was established in 1971 and is a public university with five campuses in Brisbane and Gold Coast, Queensland. Over the past 50 years, it has developed a wide range of research fields and produced many graduates. In addition to faculties such as business, law, literature, education, engineering and architecture, Griffith University also has a number of departments, including medicine, aviation, design and art. Griffith University has a track record of ‘ranking in the top 2% of universities in the world’, and with over 50,000 students enrolled, it is highly regarded overseas.
Because of its high profile, it attracts many international students from over 50 countries, accounting for 10% of all students at Griffith University.

Q2: Could you tell us about GELI?
A: When studying abroad, choosing a language school is very important. In Australia, there are various study abroad destinations this summer, including Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, but this time, the language school attached to Griffith University (GELI) is held at three locations: the Nathan Campus and Mount Gravatt Campus in Brisbane, and the Gold Coast Campus on the Gold Coast.
We will explain the appeal of each campus in Brisbane. It will be decided in January which campus will be used for this programme.

Nathan Campus

Located about 15 minutes by car from the centre of Brisbane, you can encounter various animals such as koalas while surrounded by nature.

Mount Gravatt Campus

It also has a panoramic view of the city of Brisbane. It is located about 5 minutes by car or shuttle bus from the main campus.

Q3: What kind of classes are there?
A: Classes are held from 8:15 to 10:15 on Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute break in between, and then from 10:45 to 12:45.
Basically, the same teacher will be in charge on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and a different teacher will be in charge on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In class, you will learn the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking through a variety of topics over the course of two weeks.

The content of the lessons will differ depending on your level. As mentioned above, your level will be decided by the test you take before you start. There are six levels, but the participants in this programme will mainly start in Level 3 or 4 classes. In Level 5 classes, however, they will not study grammar. They will start with the assumption that they have a good understanding of grammar and vocabulary up to a certain level. This is a special programme because it is only 10 days over 2 weeks, rather than the usual 5 weeks. More details will be announced by the end of the year, depending on the participants' circumstances.
